Why Toronto men choose ID Cosmetic Clinic for periorbital contouring
The eyes are the most sensitive, precise area of the face — even 1mm of asymmetry is visible. Male periorbital aesthetics cannot follow female standards. Our core advantage is male-specific suture design + M.D. personal consultation + multimodal non-invasive options.
Asian Men’s Eye Specialty
Dr. Xu specializes in Asian male periorbital anatomy — narrower palpebral fissure, thicker eyelids, more prominent brow bone. We use male-specific double-eyelid widths (6-7mm vs. 7-9mm for women) and tailored injection points to preserve a masculine gaze.
Physician personally performs injections / sutures
A 1mm asymmetry around the eye is visible. Dr. Xu personally performs all embedded-suture double eyelids, crow’s-feet Botox®, and tear-trough hyaluronic acid — never outsourced to nurses. Male clients especially care about precision and natural results.
5,000 clients · 80,000 treatment areas
With thousands of periorbital cases performed — including extensive experience in male embedded-suture double eyelids and male crow’s-feet treatment — we have established a male-specific periorbital”Naturalness threshold”decision criteria.
Comprehensive eye-treatment menu
Suture double-eyelid + Thermismooth Eyes periorbital tightening + Botox® crow’s feet + HA tear trough + Ultherapy® periorbital + Healite II LED + microneedling — layered coverage for all male periorbital concerns.
Bilingual (Chinese/English) consultation
Consultations available in Mandarin and English. Men in particular benefit from clear communication”How visible do I want my double eyelid” · “How much downtime can I accept”,We communicate precisely in your native language.
Convenient Greater Toronto Area (GTA) location
The clinic is conveniently located in Markham. Most male periorbital treatments are minimally invasive or non-invasive — return to work immediately, no special time off required.
- Undetectable — Double eyelid width designed for male bone structure; crow’s-feet Botox® preserves a natural smile
- Symmetric precision — 1mm Sub-millimetre asymmetry risk — Dr. Xu’s rate is < 2%
- Reversible / adjustable — Sutures degrade in 2-3 years and can be redone; HA can be dissolved; Botox® naturally metabolizes
What is men’s eye contouring?
Male periorbital contouring isMulti-modal combination plan tailored to male periorbital anatomy and aging patterns. It covers a complete toolbox from minimally invasive double-eyelid (suture), periorbital tightening (Thermismooth/Ultherapy®), dynamic wrinkle relaxation (Botox® crow’s feet), to volume restoration (HA tear trough).
Men’s periorbital anatomy differs from women’s in 3 core ways: ① thicker eyelid skin and more orbital septal fat; ② more prominent brow bone, narrower palpebral fissure; ③ aging manifests primarily as upper lid laxity, deep crow’s feet, dark circles and tear troughs, rather than fine periorbital lines.
Dr. Xu’s men’s periorbital protocols are calibrated to male anatomy: suture double-eyelid width 6-7mm (vs. 7-9mm for women); Botox® crow’s feet dosage 12-16U per side (vs. 8-12U for women); tear trough filler uses a thinner hyaluronic acid product to prevent the Tyndall effect.

How male periorbital contouring works
Different concerns call for different plans. During consultation, Dr. Xu recommends a specific protocol based on your goals (look more refreshed / reduce wrinkles / improve dark circles / double eyelid / tightening and lifting).
Consultation & periorbital anatomy assessment
Dr. Xu evaluates your palpebral fissure width, eyelid thickness, orbital septal fat volume, brow bone height, ptosis severity, tear trough depth, and Fitzpatrick skin type to define clear”Which concern affects appearance most” · “Which plan suits you best”.
Personalized treatment plan
For embedded-suture double eyelid: Dr. Xu pre-simulates 5/6/7mm widths with a surgical pen so you can choose the most natural look, then marks precisely with a medical pen. For injectables (Botox® / hyaluronic acid): she maps injection points and measures dosing.
Treatment delivery
Suture: 30-45 minutes (local anesthesia); Thermismooth: 25 minutes (no anesthesia); Botox®: 5 minutes; HA: 15-20 minutes (topical anesthetic available). Performed personally by Dr. Xu to ensure sub-millimeter precision.
Immediate post-procedure care
Sutured double eyelid: cold compress for 24 hours, anti-swelling patches. Hyaluronic acid filler: light cold compress. Botox® / Thermismooth: no special care. Optional add-on: Healite II LED red light to accelerate resolution of swelling.
Gradual results · long-term maintenance
Sutured double eyelid: immediate shape → swelling resolves in 1 week → final result stabilizes at 4 weeks. Botox®: visible in 3-5 days. Thermismooth/Ultherapy®: progressive improvement over 2-6 months. Dr. Xu schedules male maintenance intervals 10-20% longer than for women.
The core differentiator of men’s periorbital aesthetics
Three most common mistakes in men’s eye contouring: ① double-eyelid width too wide, looking feminine; ② incorrect Botox® crow’s feet placement causing brow drop; ③ overfilled tear trough leading to”Overpowering aegyo-sal (lower lid fullness)”. Dr. Xu has designed three lines of defense specifically for men:
① Men’s double-eyelid width
Male-only 6–7mm (vs. 7–9mm for women), preserving a masculine palpebral fissure and avoiding”Feminized look”.
② Botox Crow’s-feet injection points
Injection points placed laterally, avoiding the lower lid muscle, preserving brow bone support and natural smile dynamics.
③ Hyaluronic acid filler”Small, precise doses”
Men’s tear trough uses 0.3-0.5ml per side (women 0.5-1ml) to avoid under-eye”Looks heavier”or unnatural.
Am I a candidate for male periorbital contouring?
Each treatment suits different candidates. A self-check is a useful starting point, but the final recommendation should come from Dr. Xu based on your specific eye anatomy.
You are a candidate for treatment if…
- Inner fold / monolid / wanting a natural double eyelid (suture method)
- Visible static / dynamic crow’s feet (Botox®)
- Deep tear troughs / moderate-to-severe dark circles (HA + Thermismooth)
- Moderate upper-lid laxity / tired-looking eyes (Ultherapy®)
- Periorbital fine lines / early laxity (Thermismooth)
- Overall tired eye appearance / looks”5+ years older”
- All Fitzpatrick III-V Asian male skin types
Not recommended if you have any of the following…
- Seeking dramatic results”Eye refresh” — What we deliver is natural enhancement
- Severe ptosis — surgical correction required
- Severe eye bags — beyond minimally invasive correction, surgery required
- If subtle, natural results don’t appeal to you — please reconsider first
- Eye surgery or trauma within the past 6 months
- Active periorbital infection / stye
- Severe coagulation disorder / anticoagulants not discontinued
- Patients allergic to HA / Botox®

Male periorbital contouring treatment planning
Based on your concerns and age group, Dr. Xu builds a staged treatment plan.
Free 30-minute eye-focused consultation
Dr. Xu evaluates eye anatomy, aging severity, and lifestyle, and discusses your”Naturalness threshold”and tolerance for downtime.
Plan simulation and selection
For sutured double eyelid, we simulate 5/6/7mm widths in-clinic with a medical marker for you to choose; for other treatments, we show comparable before-and-after cases for reference.

Specific concerns that men’s periorbital aesthetics can improve
The 8 most common male periorbital concerns — each with a targeted solution.
Monolid / inner double eyelid
For men who want a natural double eyelid without surgery. Male suture width 6-7mm, immediate result, sutures degrade in 2-3 years and can be redone.
Embedded-suture: 1 session / lasts 2–3 yearsCrow’s feet
Radial fine lines at the outer corner of the eye when smiling, becoming visible at rest. Male-dosed Botox® precisely relaxes the lateral orbicularis oculi.
Botox 1 session(s) / lasts 3-4 monthsTear trough
A hollow under the eye creates a tired appearance. Juvéderm® Volbella, a thin formulation at 0.3-0.5ml per side, fills instantly with a natural transition.
Hyaluronic acid 1 session / lasts 12-15 monthsDark circles
Caused by dermal thinning + visible underlying vasculature. Thermismooth Eyes thickens the dermis, and Healite II LED improves microcirculation.
Thermismooth 4 sessions / 2 weeks apartUpper eyelid laxity
Upper eyelid laxity covers the palpebral fissure, making the eyes look tired. Ultherapy® periorbital zone stimulates deep collagen.
Ultherapy 1 session / lasts 12-18 monthsUnder-eye bags (mild to moderate)
Mild lower-lid fat protrusion. Thermismooth + hyaluronic acid filler”Restore surrounding volume”Visually softens under-eye bags.
Thermismooth 4 session + hyaluronic acidBrow bone descent / lateral brow drop
Botox Lateral injection relaxes the brow depressors for a 1-2mm brow lift and a brighter, more alert gaze.
Botox 1 session(s) / lasts 3-4 monthsPeriorbital fine lines / dermal thinning
Thermismooth Eyes Monopolar RF delivers deep heating to stimulate collagen regeneration, thickening the dermis by 15-25%.
Thermismooth 4-6 session / per yearPre-procedure instructions · the treatment · post-care
The eye area is the most sensitive — aftercare details matter most. Please read carefully and consult Dr. Xu.

Investment philosophy of men’s periorbital aesthetics
Pricing varies per man depending on treatment, goals, and baseline anatomy. We don’t publish specific numbers online because:
- ① Every man’s eyes are different. Two clients both wanting double eyelids: one needs single-strand suture with 4 fixation points; the other needs double-strand with 6 fixation points + minor lateral canthoplasty. Pricing differs by 1.5-2x.
- ② What we offer is physician time + precision experience in male periorbital aesthetics. The same embedded-suture double eyelid procedure performed by a medspa nurse vs. by an M.D. personally differs enormously in sub-millimetre symmetry — but the former is 40–50% cheaper. That’s your choice: lower price, or more precise results.
- ③ Men’s periorbital aesthetics is a system, not a single treatment.Embedded-suture double eyelid + crow’s-feet Botox® + tear-trough hyaluronic acid + periorbital Thermismooth Eyes are typically used in combination. We design your overall plan — not a single-item quote.
- Dr. Xu personally evaluates your periorbital anatomy and degree of aging
- On-site simulation of embedded-suture options (choose between 5/6/7mm widths)
- Itemized pricing + total program budget
- Multiple plan options (minimally invasive / moderate / comprehensive) for you to choose from
- Payment methods: VISA / Mastercard / Amex / E-transfer · Installments available
Common risks · contraindications · male periorbital considerations
The eye area is the most sensitive. Before every treatment, Dr. Xu reviews with you point-by-point the possible reactions, serious risks, and contraindications.
Common reactions (expected shortly after treatment)
- Sutured double eyelid: mild-to-moderate swelling(3-7 (resolves in a few days) + mild bruising (5–10%)
- HA: minor bruising(15-20%,more common in the under-eye area) · resolves in 3-7 days
- Botox:Small red dots at injection points · 30 resolves in minutes
- Thermismooth:Warm sensation· Several hours
- Ultherapy:Mild swelling / numbness· 1-2 days
Serious risks (rare but must be disclosed)
- Suture displacement / visible suture(< 2%)· Can be re-anchored or removed
- Suture infection(< 0.5%)· Antibiotic treatment + suture removal
- Botox Eyelid ptosis(< 1%)· 3-4 Resolves on its own within weeks
- HA vascular occlusion / retinal artery occlusion(extremely rare, < 0.05%) · M.D. personal treatment significantly reduces risk · immediate hyaluronidase reversal available
- Hyaluronic acid Tyndall effect((blue-gray tone) · can be dissolved and corrected
- Corneal injury(extremely rare, < 0.1%) · protective eye shields worn during treatment
Absolute contraindications (do not treat)
- Active eye infection · stye · herpes simplex
- Eye surgery within the past 6 months (LASIK / cataract, etc.)
- Recent unhealed periorbital trauma
- Severe coagulation disorder · anticoagulants not discontinued
- Allergy to hyaluronic acid / Botox®
- Keloid-prone skin (affects suture eligibility)
- Unrealistic expectations regarding naturalness
Male-specific periorbital considerations
- Double-eyelid width selection:Male: 6-7mm is most natural · over 8mm looks feminine · Dr. Xu strongly recommends a conservative approach
- Botox Crow’s-feet injection points:Lateral shift prevents brow heaviness · preserves natural smile
- Hyaluronic acid dosage:Men’s tear trough 0.3-0.5ml per side · overfilling makes the under-eye look puffy
- Wearing glasses:Avoid wearing heavy eyewear within 1 week of sutures · prevent pressure on incisions
- Shaving:Normal shaving immediately after sutured double eyelid · avoid contact with the eye area
- Contact lens wear:Wait 24-48 hours after sutures / HA before wearing
Male periorbital safety protocols strictly enforced by Dr. Xu
- M.D. Personal assessment — Never outsourced to nurses — all periorbital procedures are performed by Dr. Xu personally
- Double-eyelid width simulation — Pre-procedure on-site simulation with medical pen at 5/6/7mm widths for client selection
- 1mm Symmetry criteria — Measure both sides — proceed only when discrepancy < 1mm
- HA cannula injection — Reduced risk of vascular injury
- Transparent consent form — Informed consent signed before treatment · every risk reviewed item by item
- Complete imaging records — Complete records: pre-procedure / intra-procedure / post-procedure / 1 week / 1 month / 3 months
Top 5 eye-treatment questions from men in Toronto
Below are the 80% most common questions asked during male periorbital consultations, summarized by Dr. Dan Xu (M.D., CCFP), with honest answers.
Will a sutured double eyelid make a man look "feminine"?
Depends on width. Male double eyelids are limited to a natural 6-7mm male width (vs. 7-9mm for women) to preserve a masculine palpebral fissure. Before the procedure, Dr. Xu will simulate 5/6/7mm on your eyelid with a medical marker so you can see the effect before deciding. Incorrect"Feminized look"It's because the width was too wide or the crease set too high. 90%+ of male first-time embedded-suture patients choose 6mm — sharper, alert, but not detectable.
How long is recovery for suture double-eyelid? Can I work?
Suture double-eyelid recovery for men is 5-7 days for normal social activities; during the first week of visible swelling, client meetings and important meetings are not recommended. Specific timeline: D0-D3 visible swelling (60-70% state), stay home; D3-D7 swelling subsides to 85%, return to work normally (low colleague detectability); D7-D14 swelling almost fully resolved; final result stabilizes within 1 month. For important business events, schedule 2 weeks in advance.
What's the difference between dark circles and tear troughs, and how is each treated?
Tear troughThis is under-eye hollowing (a structural volume issue) — HA Volbella® 0.3-0.5ml per side delivers immediate correction lasting 12-15 months.
Dark circlesThese are caused by dermal thinning and visible vasculature (a skin presentation issue). Thermismooth Eyes thickens the dermis and Healite II LED red light enhances circulation — visible improvement after 4 sessions.
Most men have both concerns. Dr. Xu designs a combined plan — hyaluronic acid first to fill the tear trough, followed by Thermismooth series to improve dark circles.
Botox Will crow's feet treatment make me look"Forced smile"or have a frozen expression?
No — provided we use male dosing and male injection points. Dr. Xu's male crow's-feet Botox® protocol uses 12–16 units per side (vs. 8–12 for female patients), relaxing only the lateral dynamic contraction of the orbicularis oculi while preserving a natural smile. Incorrect"Forced smile"It's because the dose was too low or the points were too wide. Male-specific note: injection points must shift laterally and upward to avoid brow heaviness that makes the eyes look tired. Expression looks most natural 7–10 days post-treatment.
I have moderate upper eyelid ptosis — do I need incisional surgery?
Not necessarily. Moderate ptosis (double-eyelid crease partially hidden but eyes open normally) can be improved 2-3mm non-surgically with Ultherapy® periorbital zone + lateral Botox® brow lift. Severe ptosis (impaired vision / heavy fatigued appearance) warrants surgical referral. During consultation, Dr. Xu measures MRD-1 (pupil to upper lid margin): > 4mm is non-surgically correctable; < 3mm requires surgical consideration. Most men fall in the moderate range, where non-surgical options suffice.
How much does periorbital treatment typically cost for men in Toronto or Markham?
What is tear-trough filler actually made of, and how does it reduce hollowness under the eyes?
Do crow's feet Botox injections hurt, and is there downtime afterward?
How long do results from tear-trough filler last, and will I need touch-ups?
Can I combine crow's feet Botox with tear-trough filler in the same visit — is it safe to mix treatments?
