ID Cosmetic Clinic is a physician-led cosmetic clinic near Scarborough, at 30 Gibson Drive in Markham. We're just north of Steeles Avenue East at Warden Avenue, the edge of Scarborough, and since 2017 every new client has been examined by Dr. Dan Xu before any injection, laser or device is used.
Under one roof you'll find laser hair removal, Botox® and other anti-wrinkle injections, lip and dermal fillers, HydraFacial® and other medical facials, RF microneedling, picosecond lasers for pigmentation and tattoos, and non-surgical skin tightening. Because the options sit side by side, your plan is built around your face, not around whichever machine a clinic happens to own.
Many places call themselves a medispa or med spa. The difference here is who looks after you: a doctor assesses you, explains the risks, downtime and cost in plain language, and personally performs your injections.

Before anything is booked, Dr. Dan Xu examines you herself. She also performs every Botox® and filler injection personally, drawing on more than 80,000 injection procedures, so the person who plans your treatment is the person who carries it out.
Our clients span a wide range of skin tones, just as Scarborough does. Instead of one standard setting, each laser is chosen and adjusted for your skin and the concern being treated, which matters most for medium and deeper skin.
Other physicians learn injection technique from Dr. Xu: she is a North American Faculty Trainer for Juvéderm® with Allergan and a Clinical Preceptor for McMaster University medical students. She also wrote Timeless Asian Beauty, on planning treatment for Asian faces.

Turn onto Gibson Dr from Warden Ave and look for the corner building marked 30. Parking is free, and arriving ten minutes early gives you time to settle in before your appointment.
Tell Dr. Xu what you'd like to change. She'll look closely at your skin and facial structure, ask about any treatments you've had, then walk you through the options, realistic results, downtime and cost, in English, Mandarin or Cantonese.
There's no need to decide on the spot. If you'd like to go ahead and the treatment is a lighter one, such as Botox®, a HydraFacial or a first laser session, it can often be done the same day.

Steeles Avenue East is Scarborough's northern border, and the clinic is just north of it, off Warden Avenue. From most of Scarborough that's a 10 to 30 minute drive, depending on where you start and the time of day.
Distances are by road from each landmark. Times are typical outside rush hour.

Yes. ID Cosmetic Clinic is on Gibson Drive in Markham, just north of Steeles Avenue East at Warden Avenue, which is Scarborough's northern edge. It's about 3 km from Bridlewood Mall and 7 km from Agincourt Mall. We have one location, so there is no separate office in Scarborough.
About 20 to 25 minutes by car outside rush hour. The trip is roughly 15 km: Hwy 401 west to Hwy 404 north, exit at Steeles Avenue East, then head east to Warden Avenue. From Agincourt or L'Amoreaux the drive is usually 5 to 15 minutes.
Yes. We use several laser hair removal devices, including a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, which is generally the safer choice for deeper skin tones, and a gentler low-energy option for sensitive skin. Treatments are physician-supervised and carried out by trained technicians. Most people need six to eight sessions, spaced four to eight weeks apart.
It can be, when the device and settings are chosen for your skin. Medium and deeper skin tones are more likely to develop temporary dark marks after heat-based treatments, so Dr. Xu matches the wavelength and energy to your skin type, favours picosecond lasers for pigment and often starts with a test spot. No laser is risk-free, and your consultation covers the risks that apply to you.
Dr. Dan Xu personally performs Botox® and other anti-wrinkle injections, lip fillers, dermal fillers, jaw-slimming injections and collagen stimulators such as Sculptra®, on first visits and follow-ups alike.
Yes. HydraFacial® cleanses, exfoliates, clears pores and infuses serums in a session of about 45 minutes, with little or no downtime, and suits most skin types. For acne scars, enlarged pores and rough texture, Dr. Xu may suggest RF microneedling or laser resurfacing instead, or a combination.
Yes. Tattoos are faded over several sessions with picosecond lasers, with the number of sessions depending on the ink and your skin. Skin tags and small moles are assessed by the doctor before they are removed.
Yes, the first consultation is free and takes about 30 minutes. Lighter treatments can often be done straight afterwards, which saves a second trip from Scarborough. Treatments that need more planning, like collagen stimulators or fixing filler from another clinic, get their own appointment.
We're open Monday to Sunday, 10 AM to 6 PM, by appointment, and consultations with Dr. Xu run Monday to Saturday. Weekend times fill quickly, so it's worth booking ahead. Our team speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
