ThermiSmooth in Canada: Availability, and What to Do Instead

What Is ThermiSmooth® Eyes?

ThermiSmooth Eyes is a bipolar radiofrequency treatment for the skin around the eyes, developed by ThermiAesthetics. A small handpiece is moved over the periocular skin while the device holds the surface within a target temperature range, with the aim of prompting a collagen response over the following months. It became well known because the eye area is difficult to treat — the skin there is thin, and many energy devices are not intended for it.

Is ThermiSmooth Available in Canada?

The honest answer: the Canadian medical device licence that covered the ThermiSmooth platform is no longer active. Health Canada’s Medical Devices Active Licence Listing (MDALL) shows the ThermiGen licence as terminated, and there is no current replacement licence for the platform. That is why ThermiSmooth Eyes is not on our treatment menu — ID Cosmetic Clinic follows Canadian device regulations, and we would rather tell you that than quietly keep an old page online.

You can check any device yourself at Health Canada’s Medical Devices Active Licence Listing. It is worth doing before booking a branded device treatment at any clinic.

What People Actually Want From It

Almost nobody searches for a brand because they want that brand. The underlying goal is usually one of these: crepey skin under the eye, mild laxity of the upper lid, fine lines that show when the face is still, or a tired look that makeup no longer covers. Those are different problems with different answers, and the device matters less than getting the diagnosis right.

What We Will Not Tell You

We will not tell you that any eye treatment is painless, that it works for everyone, or that it replaces surgery where the upper lid is genuinely heavy. The eye area is where overpromising does the most damage to trust, because the results are the easiest for you to check in a mirror.
