WHAT MAKES
TORONTO BTL EXILIS ULTRA
INTELLIGENT?

EFC – ENERGY FLOW CONTROL

TORONTO BTL EXILIS 5

TORONTO BTL EXILIS: density of RF energy under control

•Continually measures and adjusts RF power to skin contact to prevent overheating of tissue
•Maintains stable heat, eliminates possible skin burns

OTHER SYSTEMS – density not controlled

TORONTO BTL EXILIS 6

SYNCHRONIZED ENERGY EMISSION (SEE)
RF AND ULTRASOUND SIMULTANEOUS EMISSION

TORONTO BTL EXILIS 7

High Frequency Ultrasound

The only FDA cleared simultaneous combination of radiofrequency and ultrasound
• Mechanical energy component of the treatment
• Absolute safety compared to cavitation systems
• Increased level of patient comfort
• Enhanced heat transmission

TREATMENT TECHNIQUE FOR LARGE APPLICATOR

Basic Instructions

•Never stop moving the applicator during the active therapy (energy emission)
•Use adequate downward pressure to ensure full contact. Maintain good skin contact during the whole treatment
•Try to reach therapeutic temperature (40-43°C) within 1–1.5 minutes
•You can use both hands while treating as this gives you better control and prevents fatigue
•Patient should feel intense heat, but not pain. Instruct the patient to say stop if any pain is felt
•Patient feedback is the first and skin temperature is the second indicator to determine the appropriate power settings

TREATMENT TECHNIQUE FOR LARGE APPLICATOR

Common Mistakes

•Poor applicator contact, applicator tip not kept perpendicular to the treated area
•The motion is too fast
•Movement of the applicator stopped or applicator lifted while the energy is still on
•Too small circular motion used – tissue not allowed to cool down enough
•Only one circular motion.
•Moving the applicator over the bones
•Using one ground pad more than once

TREATMENT TECHNIQUE FOR SMALL APPLICATOR

Basic Instructions

•You can use a mouth guard or folded gaze to protect teeth against heat if teeth sensitivity is expected and if the area in close proximity to the mouth is to be treated
•Apply generous amount of gel to ensure proper contact
•Always increase the treatment time by 1 min if you have to add more gel. For face treatments, # of sessions can be reduced from 4 to 2 if double injury protocol is used. In this protocol standard Tx times are doubled by treating all zones on one treated side first and performing second pass over all zones on the same side again
•Keep the applicator tip at all times perpendicular to the treatment area
•Always keep the applicator in motion when the energy is ON

TREATMENT TECHNIQUE FOR SMALL APPLICATOR

Common Mistakes

•Poor applicator contact
•Too little gel used
•The motion is too fast
•Applicator tip not kept perpendicular to the treated area
•Movement of the applicator stopped or applicator lifted while the energy is on
•Treating over the globe of the eye or bones
•Small circular motion is used – tissue not allowed to cool down enough
•Using one ground pad more than once

POSSIBLE ADVERSE EVENTS NOT LIMITED TO

•Erythema – usually disappears within 24 hours
•Intense heat sensation during or following treatment – usually resolves within a few minutes
•Dry skin – may occur within the first 12 hours post treatment – usually resolves within 48 hours
